| (April 8, 2004 - PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX) Pacific State Bancorp, the parent company of Pacific State Bank, today announced the promotion of JoAnne Roberts from Vice President/Controller to Vice President/Chief Financial Officer. Mrs. Roberts joined the Bank in March of 2000. Before joining Pacific State Bank she held various positions in the banking industry for over 25 years. These positions include Vice President/Controller at the Bank of Petaluma and Vice President/Chief Financial Officer at the Bank of Hayward. Mrs. Roberts is currently enrolled in the 2004 class of the University of Washington, Pacific Coast School of Banking. She also studied at Chabot College in Hayward.
Also being promoted is Ron Aschwanden from Vice President/Regional Manager to Senior Vice President/Regional Manager. Ron is located in the Angels Camp Office and has been with the Bank since April 1997. Mr. Aschwanden received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management from California State University Fresno and Masters in Agricultural Economics from the California State University at Fresno. He also received a Masters degree from the Banking Graduate School of Banking and Finance Management, Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts.
Additionally, Janita Cavanaugh has been promoted from Assistant Vice President/ Assistant Controller to Assistant Vice President/ Controller. Previously, Mrs. Cavanaugh worked for the Iowa Department of Commerce where she served as an Executive Officer providing budget analysis, personnel coordination and served as administrative liaison to other state agencies. Mrs. Cavanaugh came to Pacific State Bank in July of 2001 from Service 1st Bank in Stockton where she served in a similar capacity.
